In the Southern Cilento
Gulf of Policastro
Into Lucanian Cilento, surrounded by three National Parks, Maritime and Mountain Protected Areas
The farm holidays and bed & breakfast Casale Il Sughero is on the hill (380 meters a.s.l.) with Tyrrhenian Sea exposure, which is on the Gulf of Policastro with a southern bright exposure and sea view. We are on the top of Vibonati, Contrada Grasso 1, which adjoins to National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano.
The country house Casale Il Sughero is in a half-coast location with a high naturalistic and anthropological value because it includes the sea below and Apennine chain above, between three national parks: Pollino National Park in the South, Cilento National Park in the North and Appennino Lucano Val d'Agri-Lagonegrese National Park. The naturalistic context is half-cost hill in a country, consisting of an alternation of oak and chestnut forests, pine forests, Mediterranean scrub, livestock and cork trees. The wild fauna is typical of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park: we remind the attendance of milvus, otters, martens, porcupines, foxes, hedgehogs, buzzards, crows, wild boars and some traces of the wolf.
We are far a few kilometers (on foot or by bicycle) from two wonderful oasis, the WWF one called 'Grotte del Bussento' di Morigerati and the one called Capelli di Venere in Casaletto Spartano. We are close to Area Marina Protetta degli Infreschi e della Masseta which holds the two best beaches of Italy 2014 and 2015, Cala Bianca and Baia degli Infreschi, respectively. Our sea is made precoius by two maritime suburbs, Scario, on one side, and Maratea, on the other one.

The landscape from Casale is very diversified: at the same time you can see the Greek sea and the snowy mountains, touching four Italian regions.
There are the Calabria coast, the Isle of Cirella, to the Aeolian Isles (Stromboli and Salina) on the horizon and even the Etna in Sicily in very clear days.
To the right-hand side there are the last mountains of Campania and the first ones of Basilicata with the wonderful Maratea Coast, whereas to the left-hand side there are the Bulgheria Massif and the ridge of Masseta Coast.
Finally, in the middle of the green Valley Fontana you can admire the medieval village of Vibonati and the nearby marine suburb of Villammare, and the pine forest which is not far from home.
